The Devereux Emmet Society is hosting a special event in September 2018 The day of golf will be a benefit for The Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut. Keney Park is a scenic, fun to play course from late in Emmet’s career. The sporty back nine by Connecticut classic era architect Jack Ross blends nicely with Emmet’s work . In 2015 all holes were restored to their Golden Age roots. In addition, Keney was improved with state of art irrigation leading to beautiful conditioning.
Bradley S. Klein senior editor the Golf Advisor and Golf Channel will host.Dr. Klein was the long time architecture editor of Golf Week Magazine and the respected author of seminal books including Discovering Donald Ross, Rough Meditations, and Building Sebonack
Mark Chalfant, founder of the Devereux Emmet Society , who has spoken about Emmet’s work at Hobart College as well as Villanova, will also attend. Chalfant will publish a monograph on Devereux Emmet this fall. His article on Emmet’s career appeared in issue 48 of Golf Architecture, April 2017
